Sickies... and pictures

I know I had some anxiety about Tim leaving for a few days, about finding a sitter for the kids while I worked, and about other things too, as well as a bit of jealousy about him going to the Cabin, Yellowstone and Cowley, Wyoming without me.  So, we did have fun while he was gone, until Friday night when I got hit with a headache to beat.  Saturday I felt marginal, but played outside with the girls and cleaned and ran errands, even went shopping for some clothes for me (that doesn't ever happen).  Saturday night I got hit with the cold sickies.  Sunday was miserable and I debated whether to call in sick to work (that NEVER happens).  I ended up sleeping/laying around all day and missing Stake conference.  I had enough cold medicine to go to work Monday, fortunately, so that worked out.  Unfortunately now Audrey has the sickies, Emma had a cough for a few days, and Kennedy had a runny nose for a day, but Audrey can barely talk without coughing fits.  We're glad to have Tim home with his stories and pictures.  He had a great time.  The weather was beautiful and he had a great time riding motorcycles with Rob and Uncle Lynn, and Yellowstone was actually crowded.  I'm glad he had a good time, but he's not allowed to go up there again without me.  He was swamped with schoolwork for 2 weeks before he left, and now he's swamped again.  Accelerated courses require about 1-2 papers per day and he's taking 3classes, so the math works out to about 4 papers per day until the classes are done Oct 10.
Here's the link to the pictures. He took over a hundred. Enjoy

Lonely

I miss Tim.  He is on a much deserved getaway to cool country.  He flew up to Billings, MT this morning and went to his uncle's house in Cowley, WY and then spent most of the day riding around vintage motorcycles with Rob.  He had a great day, and we missed him. A LOT.  We'll have pictures from his trip through Yellowstone and fishing at the Cabin at Mack's Inn, motorcycles, wildlife, beautiful scenery and all much more I'm sure.  He returns on Monday night late.

wet weather breaking the heat for a day...

I love the rain.  We woke up this morning to a great rain storm.  It was raining like we haven't had for a really long time.  There was lightning until about 10am and puddles 4 inches deep in the back yard.  The kids loved it!  They were jumping and splashing the puddles with the umbrella and having loads of fun.  I'll put up pics tomorrow.  It is so hopeful to know that cooler weather might be on the way.  September is a rough month for heat because it is still pretty intense, but soon it will be over and we can come out of our summer hibernation.  So we're thankful for the rain and the hope it brings for a beautiful fall season ahead.

pictures

We got a new camera.  I am really excited about it, we want to take not just pictures of the kids, but good pictures.  I wasn't happy with the point-n-shoot we had, and we'll keep it for pinches, but the new camera is a DSLR, Canon T1i. Here are just a few snaps we've taken since we've had it.

Expressions seem so much more natural
Here is wheat flour falling out of the grinder.

Audrey mischief, and creativity
Kennedy, lighting is so fun!
Outdoor pictures are more true colors
When asked if she likes the new camera, Kennedy said,
"AAAAAAAAAAAA!"

Music

Emma has a wonderful knack for music.  She has great rhythm and I can tell she is like me, she understands it without having to be explained, so teaching her the fundamentals is frustrating because she feels it's repetitive.
I'm so proud of her with her willingness to try.  I don't know how long it will last, but I'll enjoy it for now.
